"Rent textbooks without the risk of your books becoming worthless by the end of the semester. Rent college textbooks from the comfort of your home or office.
Don't lose money at your school bookstore anymore. Rent textbooks along with customers on over 4,000 college campuses that have used our service so far.
Campus Book Rentals offers new and gently used textbooks for typically less than half the price you'll pay in your school bookstore.
Renting textbooks saves you money plain and simple and gets the same result in your classes as buying your books. "
Disclaimer: I received a small monetary compensation from Campus Book Rentals for this post....however the idea of renting Campus books seems good to me.

i have seen this on TV and it is a great idea, thanks for passing it on
Now that's a heck of a good idea! I still have some of my university textbooks because they were so expensive (even 30 years ago) that I hated to throw them away!
Both of my Grandaughters are in colllege and books can be a terrible drain. My Daughter buys them and then resells them.
Renting would be good too.
its a good concept
HI Kim, I have seen this advertised on TV... That is great for students.. I remember EVEN years ago that my sons' books were SO expensive.
Hugs,
Betsy
I rented a book the first semester. I would probably do it again if the price was right.
I typically check around for prices and buy or rent - depends on the cost. I never buy from the school unless I have to because it's so much more expensive. At the end of the semester, I sell them back.
This sounds like an excellent idea! Thanks for the information!
What a great idea!!
Thanks

I'm just getting around to this.
Last semester, when Miss Whimsy priced all her books at the bookstore, the grand total was just a tad under one thousand dollars!!
Once I picked myself up the floor, we started looking around for alternatives and discovered rentals. She ended up spending less than five hundred. This semester, we've already secured them. She didn't rent all of them, but including what she did, the cost is under THREE hundred dollars for text books this semester.
It's definitely a way to go.
