The Race Home

We had a fun, very frightening ride home from the mountains.  Started out with my son, "I will not let Glen get ahead of us for long".

This ride was not recommended by me, we made it safely, by the grace of God.

"I have Glen in the cross-hairs ahead"

"We are catching him, now we are are leaving him in the wind"

After we got ahead, Jacob kept an eye on how close Glen was, for hours.  The intent of conscentration was admirable, but frightening.

We won ended about the same, at the finishline, close.

During this race of life, we need to have such intent on winning.  The race home is difficult, but keep the determination.

Rushing Waters!

This is a beautiful photo of the Ocoee River, in Tennessee.

I look at how,  it represents how fast my 50 years went by.  Cherish your time.

Life Can Be Slippery!

Watch your step, when it looks sturdy and safe.  It can be a hidden slippery spot!

When the onlookers (my nieces) have a good laugh,  keep on trying.

After falling in very cold water,  he took it in stride.  He did dry out and had a good laugh about it.

When it looks safe, watch your step.  It can be deceiving .  Notice the beauty around.

My 50th Birthday Week

I started the weekend celebrating my 50th birthday, will be fortunate enough to keep having parties all week.  I will have more pictures later.

My 4 sisters, Dad, Cindy (childhood friend), kids, new friends and more were there.  I had a memorable day.  A great crowd it was.

You can see my two kids were blinded by the light!

Waking Up

When my son is woken by a horse big puppy.  He is learning a touch of being a father.  He thinks that, but we know babies are much more.

I hope he has the opportunity to see, when he is older!

Life's Unfinished Symphony

Life is an unfinished symphony,
building and growing,
stumbling and slowing,
striving to set the right tone,
joining with others whose lives touch our life
since a symphony cannot be played alone.

With each new day the symphony continues,
quietly singing,
stridently ringing,
varying as each day goes by,
with some passages that seem ponderously lengthy
and others that joyfully, lightly fly.

Life’s symphony can be filled with beauty,
always improving,
incredibly moving,
following the Conductor’s directing,
the symphony of life, with prayerful obedience,
the Master is slowly perfecting.

When a Stranger Knocks.....

There was a knock at the door, a strange man, asked my sister and I, if we had any food, he was hungry.

Karen and  I were left home, while Mom and Dad took a ride to town.  I was about 10 years old.

We said sure, we will make you a sandwich,  we did while he stood at the door.  We gave him the sandwich and he left.

I was feeling good, I had helped the man.

When our parents got home, we thought we did the wrong thing.   They were concerned about our safety, of course.  Now forty years later, we still feel like we got in trouble for feeding that man.

I know as a parent,  explain as much as you can to the kids.  Try to make sure they understand, which is not easy.

I knew it was a good deed, but there was a dangerous aspect.  So I guess the life lesson is, try to do good but be careful!

After the Storm....

When the storms come and go.   This is how it feels after,  beauty and peace.  I know there will be more storms to come by,  so "I will learn to dance in the rain".
This is my camera, after it went in the water with me.  When I fell overboard into inches of water (earlier post).  Maybe it will be fine also.

Lighthouse for Life......

When I feel like I am drifting at sea,  and I do sometimes!  I try to remember the lighthouse for my life.

I have been feeling Blah! Just keeping this real.

I  know this is another stage of life.   Heading into sailing the sea of, when you raise the kids, long marriage, bills.  New waters to tread, boring yet blessed.

I have finally realized life it just ordinary, everyday life.  I need to remember, when I was so tired, I was longing to get back to ordinary.

When I feel this way, I should remember the title of my blog, right.

Hurry Up Spring!

Just playing around with my snow pictures, out of my window.   It is a good reminder of Spring is going to be here before we know it.  We did have a snow last week, and today was a spring day.

Time does fly, we are springing forward an hour this weekend.

Looking Up!

When I am just plain ole tired,  from walking again at Church.   This is what I like to do, at my window.   Look Up!

I am so blessed to be walking, I am repeating last week.

We did enjoy visiting with family all weekend.  Now I must take an injection for MS (thankful for meds, but I hate shots!)

When it is tough, look around and see the beauty.  When it is Looking Up !

Thursday Thoughts!

My daughter and I,  23 years ago, she was a few days old.  I was standing very well, after having a nine pound baby.  Remember the eighties look.

All moms know how I feel, it was worth it.  I still wonder at the miracle, of it all.  To have a baby and then help them grow into great adults!

When it seems difficult, try to remember the big picture.  It will be worth it!

Loves Beginnings

The little girls face says it all.  Boys will be boys!   It is cute to us,  my nephew growing up.  If life were to stay so innocent?

No worries, just having a good time.   We should leave our cares with the one that takes care of us also.
