Evening in Atlanta

I am so thankful that I can drive down Peachtree Street, a few blocks from the Fox Theatre in my wheelchair, speeding alongside traffic and enjoy dinner out with my college daughter. The purpose of the trip was to repair some little things, at her place, so we were all over Atlanta looking for parts. We were in the traffic in my Miracle van, warm, but had such compassion on the homeless people, (when I was out in the cold wind). I want to help them so much, but how? Pray of course. I have been trying to help needy people for many years and when the job seems overwhelming, what we all can do is help one person at a time.

Christmas Loved but Exhausting

I have not done any blog post since I left for Christmas in the Mountains of North Georgia. My father is 70 and we wanted to make sure he had a memorable Christmas, so we spent the night and worked. We installed faucet, hung curtains, cleaned, etc. to get ready for the big day, when the sisters arrived. Had a great time but it was exhausting, my father made his house wheelchair accessible, a long time ago, so I can get around. I have difficulty visiting most houses, which I know, no one thinks about it.
I still do not know why I am blogging, just hope to let a few people see that life can be normal with challenges.

When Things Get So Tough

With the stress of Christmas, finances, shopping, traveling, etc. seem to be getting out of control, remember time will pass and life will get better. We should take the time to enjoy Christmas and family, friends and be grateful for whatever we have. I guess tonight makes me thankful for a large family since we had a Christmas get together, party, with lots of laughter and friendly chatting. Now off to North Georgia mountains to see my father and 4 sisters for Christmas, see how blessed I am.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING TIME IS EXPIRING

FINALLY REX IS OFF SCHOOL TEACHING FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, (WHICH MAKES THE JOB TOLERABLE). WE HAVE A FEW GIFTS TO GET IN A CROWD. I WILL WEAR MY BATTERY DOWN ON MY CHAIR TO RUN THROUGH THE CROWDS, AND MAKE SURE I RUN OVER NO ONE. BEEN DRIVING THESE CHAIRS FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND I HAVE A GOOD TRACK RECORD OF NOT RUNNING OVER NO ONE, BUT MY SISTER KAREN'S FOOT. A REAL ACCIDENT, A COUPLE OF TIMES.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A FAMILY AND FRIEND'S TO GET GIFTS FOR. THIS YEAR HAS BEEN A TIME OF LEARNING MORE ABOUT NOT OVERSPENDING.

OFF TO OMA'S HOUSE WE GO

IT HAS BEEN A GREAT TRADITION TO GO TO OMA'S HOUSE TO EAT, (TOO MUCH) BUT WE HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THIS FOR 25 YEARS. SHE CAME FROM GERMANY IN THE 50'S AND HAS HAD A LIFE THAT SHOULD BE WRITTEN ABOUT. NOW RETIRED, SHE COOKS FOR 3 CHILDREN AND SPOUSES WITH 6 GRANDCHILDREN.
I AM TIRED OF COURSE, BUT IT IS WORTH THE EFFORT TO GO, I ALWAYS ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND LIVE LIFE. LIFE IS SHORT SO MAKE THE BEST OF IT.

Everyday life with MS

I AM WRITTING THIS AFTER A LONG DAY. TIRED OF COURSE, BUT THANKS TO MY POWER WHEELCHAIR, I HAVE THE DISHWASHER RUNNING NOW. I AM COUNTING DOWN THE STUFF I HAVE TO GET DONE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. SINCE MY JOURNALISM IS SO BAD, I WONDER WHY I AM DOING THIS. I KNOW THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR EVERYTHING AND MAYBE ONE PERSON WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO KEEP ON TRYING.

I Have heard ALL the Doom Lately

I believe all the Doom and Gloom News, that we have heard lately, needs to be in contest sometimes.

I just thought I would throw out this thought, to the world of blogs.  It could always be worse!

When I got MS Multiple Sclerosis about 30 years ago.  I have had to look around and see how blessed I am.

There does seem to be someone, in a worse situation.  Just Look Around!
