World MS Day

 World MS Day

As a long timer living with MS (35 years) I am so happy to see all the progress that has been made with Multiple Sclerosis!

The amount of treatments are mind blowing to me since I had no treatment for the first 15 years.

I was at my worst when a nurse would have to drag me out of the bathtub in 1993 (which still makes me thankful that I can shower standing with grab bars).....then I started the interferons that came out in 1994!

My MS has been in remission ever since then!  I am even walking now with the use of a walker which is miraculous to me!

I have lived my dream, married for 30 years with two wonderful young adult children and a grandson now!

Just living an ordinary life with all its ups and downs!

Don't give up hope!

James H. Patterson Sacrifice for Country

I am reposting this about my family member who gave all....

On this Memorial Day weekend.....I want to recognize my grandmothers brother who gave his life for our country in World War I.

James Harvey Patterson

my aunt Sue remembers her mom saying....... Harve left in tears saying "I will never be back" as he walked away on that old country dirt road (not on a volunteer basis like we have now).

He was killed on October 4, 1918 just weeks before the war ended and was buried in Flanders Field. He did not make it back to American soil.....of course that always bothered my grandmother.

I am thankful to all who made that supreme sacrifice on this Memorial Day weekend!

Mayonnaise Biscuits

I took a pic of my mayo biscuits

I have a new found interest in cooking lately!

I got this recipe out of an old church cookbook.
I haven't cooked mayonnaise biscuits in 30 years....
so I was glad I liked them and hubs did too!!

Here is the recipe:
2 cups self rising flour
2 heaping tablespoon of mayonnaise
1 cup of milk
2 tbsp sugar
Dash of salt

Blend flour, sugar and salt together.  Add milk and mayonnaise.  Stir until smooth batter.  Spoon into a greased muffin pan.  Bake at 350 degrees until brown.  Yields 12 muffins.

Spring Inside My Window

I love seeing this flower bloom every Spring

Mother's Day sure reminds me of how I miss my Mom.  She moved on to heaven 10 years ago.  I see myself acting like her more and more.  The flashbacks are very comforting.

I will enjoy this Mother's Day weekend by skyping with my son and grandbaby.....then seeing my daughter here at home!  I Always love spending time with them!

Happy Mother's Day!
