Past and Current Tornado's

Net Pic
I feel compassion for the devastation that the tornado's caused this week in the South.

This weeks tornado's does remind me of my crazy thoughts as a young person. I would say, I want to see a tornado.

I came close to seeing a tornado when I was at work in the 1980's.  I saw debris fly by the window and heard the building shaking.

Our office ran to the restroom (center of the building with no windows).    It was afterwards that we saw a semi-truck laying on it's side near us,  etc.

I never wanted to see a tornado after that,  I realized how frightening they are.

How our thoughts can be silly when we are young? Maybe it is that  invincible feeling....

This week does wrap up with the fairytale Royal Wedding.  I personally like weddings since they remind me of my personal fairytale wedding! ~smiles~

I remember in the 1960's when I was visiting my father, who just moved out of our house, a tornado touching down behind his apartment building. Awesome site for a 10 year old. Blessings to you dear one.

Oh no thank you, I'm terrified of tornado's. I am so shocked at the total devastation caused by them. My heart goes out to all the survivors and those they lost. Tammy

I was quite similar when I was young!!! Young people think they are indestructible, that nothing will happen to them. I bet you know the constant teenager replies when we deny them something they want, "Don't worry, nothing will happen!!" Or "I'll be fine"!" Something no one can ever say with certainty. As to these tornados, I am ready for winter to come back, with it's quiet stillness.

That would be one of the most frightening things to see coming at you...a tornado that is...not the wedding...LOL

Weather fascinates me but I'd rather read about it. Much safer!

I enjoyed watching the wedding today. I haven't seen the whole things yet but I taped it so I'll watch it later tonight.

Enjoy your weekend!

I saw some of the royal wedding videos. I still picture Prince William as a baby with Princess Di!! ;o)

That whole invincibility thing is killing me in my teenagers right now!
And the south is so devastated. We were very fortunate here.

I have gone through many hurricanes, but tornadoes would scare me more.

Kim, When I lived in Florida I wished to experience a Hurricane...I experienced Hurricane Fran and scared the bee-jeebies out of me and so I do watch what I say now...the devastation is horrendous!

The tornadoes have been sobering. Hey by the way, the title of your blog speaks to me each time I see it. Thank you for that tiny little reminder to be thankful for what I do have, for things could always be worse!

It's terrifying what tornadoes can do. Anyone who wants to be around one doesn't realize that fully, I don't think. We are often silly when we're young. The Royal Wedding certainly is a bright spot in the week. Glad you had your own fairytale wedding, Kim!

Kim, I was in a tornado in Colorado of all places with my kids!

We were at Santa's workshop when all of a sudden a crazy storm hit. Not knowing what was going on I took my kids into an ice cream shop. (three sides were glass!) It was so black, I thought it was nightfall.

Suddenly it all changed back to daylight and we went back out to "enjoy" the theme park. Only later did we find out a tornado touched down up the road. All I could think of was the dangerous ice cream shop with glass sides I took my kids in thinking it was a "bad storm".

I am glad you are okay.
