My Smart Car Adventures

When we drove into the above scene....I said to my car "We are home"  Look at all the Smart cars!

The reason for going here started when some kind of critter chewed the outside temperature wire on my car....which made the check engine light stay on.  Thankfully Hubs could fix it...but finding the part for a Mercedes was not easy.

When we were inside this really nice place...I thought of how 25 years ago I had said...."Someday I want a Mercedes" and now I actually have one!
Ok it is a tiny Smart car made by Mercedes carrying a scooter on the back of it...but still some dreams do come true!

I doubt this is the end of my critter troubles but at least this chapter  had a happy ending!

Watching Squirrels

I think this a squirrel where I have labeled  'squirrel' on this photo.

(they are entertaining to watch as they jump among the trees)

They worked for days to get to the top of this lone pine tree...
~and built a nest~
I admire their tenacity til...

They damage our home...by getting into our attic...
and chewing holes in the screen on our deck!

They have crossed the cuteness line for me and are turning into
pesky critters now...
Funny how something can start out as cute...and can turn into troubles so quickly!

Weekend of Celebrations

My daughter, Leah is 26 today....and I want to shout "Happy Birthday" to her...as we have enjoyed a day of family fun celebrating...

we ate chili that Hubs cooked....then she blew out a funny candle on her cake as we sang Happy Birthday...she opened presents as a house full of family was all talking at once!

I Love spending time with my young adult daughter...it is just pure joy...and Hubs and I went out to eat a steak for our anniversary.

We had a great weekend of celebrations to remember...

My Anniversary Letter

Dear Hubs:

We started out our relationship by writing letters....so after 28 years of marriage...I am writing you about a few things that come to my mind when thinking about our life together (but this particular letter is a little bit public):

1.  you are a pack rat when I like to get rid of stuff so I kinda ignore the clutter...knowing it is a part of who you are.
2.  you have always been a very involved father as we raised our two great kids...which I appreciate beyond words.
3.  you snore but I got used to it and now I blog about it
4.  you loved food and I was never hungry so I kinda nagged about food
5.  you have helped me to live a normal life despite the MS...one of the many ways you have helped me....was by working on power chairs, scooters, walkers, vans, grab bars, ramps, Smart car, hand-controls and handicap accessible houses.

I am so thankful and feel so blessed to have shared this journey of life with you!

Happy Anniversary Hubs!  I Love You!

Babysitting with My Scooter

My sister had surgery on her back a few weeks ago....so taking care of her two little ones is difficult for her while she is recouping.

I told her "Maybe we two handicapped people can work together to try to corral them"....but I think they corralled us instead...
they wore us out!

It was fun to play with them....and it is nice to know....that I could help her out...some.

When My Tooth Fell Out

While I was eating a steak....my tooth cap fell out of my out of my mouth....and bounced on the floor!  I instantly realized how important my teeth are!

We all had a giggle at me looking like the above net pic but...of course...I wanted to get it glued back in place ASAP!

so I went ahead and took the  risk to drive to the dentist when I was not sure I had enough gas to make it there with....(previous gas pumping post about that is here)

It was one of those days but some things are definitely well worth the effort.

I am so Thankful for modern dentistry that can glue a tooth cap back in my mouth!

Becoming More Active

I enjoy these kind of days...riding along with Hubs to the dump landfill....
(I think it is funny how we look like the 'Beverly Hillbillys')

I have been trying to get out of the house more often....
before I go crazy
so I went to the dump, physical therapy, church, grocery store, chiro and out to eat with Hubs...last week.

then my body said, Halt!.....I woke up weak and dragging....but Thankfully I was back to 'my normal' after one day of resting.

On my dragging days of rest....I try to realize time is going on....it is not getting dark outside so so early...and now it is February already!
