Melancholy Feelings

Big Mama, Big Daddy 1979

I have a mixture of feelings as my birthday approaches.  I am happy to celebrate with my loved ones, but I also miss the loved ones that have gone on.

I see value with these feelings to make me a whole person,  who feels love.

Now with scanning, I want to remember these pictures of my earlier childhood.

Love your old family pictures, Kim.... We DO miss our loved ones when they are gone, don't we??? I am the only one left in my family (other than my kids, some nieces and nephews)...

Happy UPCOMING Birthday, Kim.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wonderful pictures from your past! My birthdy was this month, and I have been missng my mom. We used to have a pole lamp just like that, they were all the rage!! I taped Beatles bubble gum cards all over it and it blew up.

Oh Kim, it is hard when our loved ones are gone. But you keep them alive in your heart with your memories.

i just earlier today wrote on another blog the photos from the past made me focus on my family from the past. my grandparents and both parents and all their brothers and sisters and some of their children are now deceasesd. i have my brother and his wife and 2 adult children and 4 cousins each on mother and daddys side of the family and we are scattered to the winds. so this brings back fond memorys. enjoy your family, life is fleeting and but a cloud of smoke.

My birthday is spent in reflection on my life. No parties. I go off alone and reflect. Your parents look so content.

I love the pics! I know what you mean. I desperately miss my grandparents. They were such sweet people. I try to remember to tell my son about them. It's the only way I know to make their memory live longer.

Blessings to you my friend as you approach your birthday. I pray that it is a happy one!
