We kept saying, calm down, go outside, get your bone, etc. My sister even heard him, while talking to me on the phone.
Our son finally gets up, tells us, he was letting a friend stay here. The kid could not go home, yet. He had missed his curfew.
We had a stranger in the house, asleep behind the closed door.

Lesson here, listen to your dog, sometimes they know more.

I always believed that my English Setter new what was going on before me. She also knew when I was sad or needed her attention. Since she has died, I realize it more and more. She was not a dog but a friend. A loving friend. Nice lesson you wrote.
I wholeheartedly agree, Kim. My German Shepherd was a top notch when it came to warning or protecting me. I sill miss him after all these years. Guess what his name was? Rambo....
Hey, I hope you're doing well. Ella and I had a great time at the pool. Have you tried Aquatic Therapy?
I agree that our pets know more about some things...
Long before the skies would darken or rain would fall, our cat would go hide downstairs...we then knew a storm was coming...
Pets are such a gift! Great lesson!
What a wonderful pet to have in your home. Dogs can be so smart and helpful!
Kim,
I had to smile at this. :) You "almost" refer to your dog as your horse. And my wife and I refer to our cat as a dog. Are animals having identity crises'?
Isn't it wonderful to have such companions?
My husband grew up with boxer dogs. They are big, chatty and very aware of everything and very protective. I grew up with a dog that thought it was a cat. It slept most of the time. Hehehe. Loved your post. :)
having 5 dogs one of them should be able to warn us re something.
Ah, dogs are a great gift! I have often thought - if your dog doesn't like someone, why should you? Great post and a nice blog!

GREAT story Kim! That's why we call them "man's best friend". They help look out for us here. My beautiful German Shepherd took such good care of all of us, and all the foster kitten and pups that have come through our doors.
My good friend would come and stay here and she too was given the same attention as the rest of the family. It took very little for "our girl" to figure out who we loved and accept them as family too!
