This is my sister's story of toughness, since she was stung in the ocean while on vacation
She visits the Doctor for a check-up a month later, in Tennessee.
She said, "I have a strange question that you have never heard".
The Doc says, "Oh I am sure, I have heard most".
My sister said "I was stung by a stingray while on vacation".
The Doc was surprised and said "That is one, I have not heard" since he is far from the ocean.
He told her, "you can have the barb removed by surgery or let it work its way out".
Of course, she says "I will let it work its way out". The spiny barb can be seen under the skin of her ankle.
I would have it removed, of course. I saw it a month later, since it was still in her ankle.
She is so tough and does things the old-fashioned way. I tease her living like they did back in history.
We are blessed now with a health system, they did not have back in history....

I have heard of several people being stung by a stingray. It is quite painful. She is definitely a trooper.
Oh, I, too, would have it removed. Who knows what she go through waiting for it to run its course. But I know so many who would do as she's doing. Brave and tough one, she is. Huh?
My mother got stung by one of those a few years back and her foot swelled up so that she couldn't even get a sock on much less a shoe.
Love your insight on this story, Kim...
Oooh...that makes me cringe just thinking about it. I would definitely have it removed. I'm such a baby about things like that.
And you're right, we should let God be in control either way. Thanks for always pointing us to Him!
Ouch, that sounds extremely painful! I would opt to have it removed. I'm chicken like that:)

I love the analogy.. and yes that sounds sooo painful. Why do we keep choosing the hard way?
Sigh. My son is on a cruise this week. I want him home.
Oh my that does sound painful indeed.
I hear that is very painful. Seems silly to me to leave it in and go around in pain! But to each their own ;)
your sister must be tough , i would opt for surgery.
Kim -
That's a great analogy. I definitely don't want to deal with something like that. Your sister is tough. :)
You are gifted with Godly wisdom Kim. (To remind you, Steve Irwin, the famous Ozzie Crocodile Hunter was killed by a barb from a stingray hitting his heart. There was no way out in his case.)
