MY COPPER MINER FATHER

I want to thank all Father's that try to be good Fathers. My husband has been a good father for 22 years now. He helped steer the children to be outstanding adults (I am prejudiced).

My Father raised 5 girls, he worked in the Copper Mines of Copperhill, TN. I always say, "there was copper in them thar hills". He would ride a skip into the ground 3000 feet below the surface. They would dynamite the ground, then send it to the surface to be processed into copper.
We would all be concerned of the mines collapsing or tragedies that do happen. He saw some accidents and he tries to not think about them now. He is one of the few copper miners that is still living.

We always take it for granted, when our parents work hard, until we get older and realize it. Be appreciative of your Fathers that try. They are not perfect, but if they tried, that is great.

How true it is Kim! Inasmuch as I taught my children, they have no feelings for their own as He made it plain and clear to them over the years that he has nothing to do with them. Very sad. This however doesn't mean they don't respect them, because they do. It's more like a respect to a stranger they never know personally.

But your Father does deserve your warm accolade.

Trying is all we can do, like I tell my wife, remember, I'm only a man! My kids hate that one.

I'm so glad that you have a wonderful father. My dad died in October so it was a hard Father's day. But I did tell him how much I was grateful for him and all that he did for me. And I'm so thankful that I told him that before he passed. Please give your dad a big hug.

He sure worked hard. Seems like that is half the battle, finding a job and sticking with it even the hardest jobs so the family has what they need.
