ADVENTURES IN DOWNTOWN ATLANTA

A very hectic weekend is over, good but over. We started with a usual weekend, date night, garage sales (which is always an adventure).

My daughters car broke down at her apartment in Atlanta, she needed a battery. That was a minor problem but her car was towed before we could get there. My husband had to pick it up at the lot with title and $125 cash. They get it back in its parking place and that is it, we thought.

Today starts with Church and buying a battery, rushing all day. We finally get to visit with my daughter at a restaurant on Peachtree Street, enjoying the food and talking. We look outside to see a policeman with a rifle gun running from store to store looking for someone. Everyone eating outside rushes inside to the restaurant, they said they heard a gun shot, we were all trying to get away from the windows and take cover, however, I was a sitting duck (pardon the pun). Fortunately, it was over, another police car came and they left with nothing happening. It reminded me of what you see on TV.

I know how blessed we were, while everyone was watching for a tornado, with our spring weather. This is a lesson in, you never know what the day will bring.

Thank God you were not hurt. I have visted Atlanta and always viewed it as very quiet area, like in the country. It's such a beautiful city.

Just this morning the bus I was traveling in got hit by a mack truck - on my side! It was a good thing the truck was not speeding otherwise I may not have been reading your post.

We need to always count our blessings and pray to God before we step out there, because you never know what could happen on any given day.

Stay blessed.

That's why I'm always thankful for what I have, not mad for what I want. Are things the same in GA as they are in MD? Did mom and dad buy the new battery, and pay the impound lot too?

Hi Kim! How are you? I'm glad you were not hurt. Thank you for the wonderful comments you left on my blog. You are absolutely right! I'm blessed that I wasn't harmed or any of my family especially my kids. Thank God! Like you said, you never know what the day will bring. Take care always. :)

Have a blessed day! :)

She paid the impound fee and we loaned her the money for the battery, she is good about paying us back. We are having a lot of rain but the tornado's we would like to do without.

I can relate that restaurant incident but my experience was not in a restaurant. I was at the Church attending a mass, i went out just to pee, when i was already at the gate, bomb exploded at the center of the church, lots of people died. I cried and didn't move to my place. So horrible.

Yes, you were right, we never know what the day will bring to us...

Thanks anyway for your comment to my blog. Have a great day.

I'm so glad no one was hurt. Sometimes things like the battery and impound seem to happen at the worst possible times but then as in your situation something even worse happens and you realize just how blessed you are. Replacing a battery and paying out a car are nothing compared to what could have happened to you that day. God is so good. God bless you, I really enjoy reading your blog
