BEAVER DAM

BEAVER DAM

This is amazing how Beavers can dam up the water. It is near my home, my son took the picture with his cell phone.

Just curious, how deep is the water there? It looks like an awesome bit of construction, doesn't it?

It is amazing what animals can do. Very clear pic for a cell phone!

I do not know how deep the water is, it is a creek backed up, so I do not think it is very deep, My son has a great cell phone camera, I said, take a real camera to the lake next time. He doesn't listen.

I wonder how quickly they built this? Beavers are such hard little workers ... persistent, too. My father planted some young trees on his property and the beavers harvested them in one night. lol He replanted, putting chicken wire half way up the trunk ... they've left it alone. :) Thanks for sharing!

BTW ... I hope you'll be celebrating Earth Hour 2009. :)

This is just a testament to God's Awesome creation. Every creature on earth has it's purpose. It is really a clear photo for a cellphone. Good job!

Great title, Kimberly. I try to remember that mantra daily. I want to come back and go cover-to-cover shortly. I like your blog from what I've briefly seen.

Now I am from Oregon and an Oregon State U Beaver fan. But, you really don't want any beavers on your property. They can bring down trees like nobody's business. Best to you and your family!

How much are beaver pelts going for these days? You might think of getting your shotgun for some extra income. Trading pelts can be a lucrative business. As long as you don't skin them alive, that's, why you need the shot gun. Preferably a 410 gauge so as not to damage the fur.
