Word Filled Wednesday - Spiders

I believe this verse is for me in so many ways other than a spider.

I was simply pruning the rose bush and of course there was a hidden spider again.

I stopped clipping and got out the camera instead.

There are many Bible verses and psychological stuff that fit with this fear of mine....

All I have to do is look above the spider to see new growth!

Dreaming of Clean Sheets

I am airing my dirty clean laundry here to share an ordinary moment of marriage.

Let me being by stating that I Love clean sheets on my bed!

I may have a clean sheet fetish?

I wash and dry the sheets but I cannot make the bed alone because of strength, deep pockets, etc..So hubs helps me.

One week after we had changed the bed and I climb into it much later.....I saw that hubs is laying across the bed sideways!
His feet were laying just below my pillow on top of my clean sheet but not on my pillow!  The bed looked like the pic below....

I am sure yall are saying Ewww, feeling my pain.  He was in a deep sleep so I shoved gently wiggled him to his side of the bed.  This better not happen again or else....

Oh well.....After so years of marriage I do try to let the small stuff go.  I am sharing a pointless marriage moment but these moments are our lives....

Geese Family Growing Up

I have been blessed to watch this geese family with 4 babies goslings maturing.  Geese are not friendly but I am not near them....

They have grown fast just like our kids grow up fast. You can see them walking now....Just sharing a few photos occasionally.

My Artwork - 1977

I painted this canvas during High School art class.   I saw the image on a card so these two doves are not my creation.  It is an original acrylic painting of mine otherwise and my first attempt at painting...

The painting above is my creation  (my memory).    I always knew that I should take lessons to improve but?

After these paintings my life became busy with dating hubs then marriage, you know the rest of the story.....

MS took some of my dexterity in my hands.  I have improved my dexterity significantly by typing again since I started blogging!  Good things come from blogging....

I join Lisa  at Two Bears Farm today.

I am Tired and I Won!

Yep....I won this giveaway from Stacey at  Dawning Inspiration and I chose this trivet and napkin holder from Dayspring.  Now my goal is to keep the table cleaned off enough to see them!

Why I am Tired

My house was cleaned by my sister-in-law but I also work as I help by saying:
1. Throw that away
2. That can be packed away
3. I pick up the junk so they can find the dirt:)

I feel better after a good nights sleep and now have less clutter....  Whew....It is a luxury to have your house cleaned but I find it necessary also??

Is this Trusting or Stubborn?

I am finally moving past Fathers Day to my little horse dog stories....

This photo shows how  horse dog refuses to move his paw when I am telling him to.    This scenerio happens often.

I always drive my chair carefully around any child whether furry or not?

This could be called trust but I call it stubborn.  He does know the word "move" very well.

My children laugh at how our horse dog has become my furry child.    The kids are independent now and little horse dog needs me!

Happy Fathers Day!

Hubs/Kids - Disney 1997

Hubs is a great father.

Hubs has been a loving father yet firm enough to help guide our children when I was a bit to soft.  (like the Goldilocks fairytale)

We had many, many fun times like when we went to Disney World, as seen in this picture.

Then we survived those awful difficult teenage years with hubs firmness.

Happy Father's Day, Hubs!  Even though you are not my father  You have been a great father to our children.

Fathers Day Appreciation

I appreciate my Dad, he was there for us.  He had 5 daughters and raised us with one bathroom....Many men tell me that he deserves an award for living with 6 women??

He worked in the Copper Mines therefore I am a Copper Miner's daughter.

Dad risk his life many times when 3000 feet below the ground in those mines.  It was a large part of his life.

He also took us on vacations in Florida, trips to the Smoky Mountains, visit family, we just had fun.

Dad taught me how to ride a bicycle, Honda 90 motorcycle, a riding lawn mower, then how to drive a straight shift car.

The best moments are ordinary laughing and just spending time together.  Dad always had a great sense of humor.

Now that he is struggling to breath with COPD,  I value Fathers Day more.

I encourage others to appreciate their parents now.

MS Stress Study

I have always wondered if stress affected MS.  This study answers a few questions....

The NMSS posted this article:

Study: No Link Found Between Stress and Development of Multiple Sclerosis

A new study finds that stress does not appear to increase a person’s risk of developing MS. The study, published in the May 31, 2011 issue of Neurology, focused on two large groups of women involved in the Nurses’ Health Study, involving hundreds of thousands of female nurses followed over time. The nurses were asked to report on general stress at home and at work, as well as recall physical and sexual abuse in childhood and as teenagers. The investigators, led by Trond Riise, PhD (University of Bergen, Norway), concluded that their results do not support a major role of stress in the development of MS, but that more research is needed to definitely exclude stress as a potential risk factor for developing MS.

Past Horseback Riding

Me 1982
As kids, we loved riding horses with my cousins.  I enjoyed horseback riding until the ride in this photo.

The ride started out slow and it was nice.  I did not know that we would end with galloping.  I came really close to falling off the horse!

Hindsight is...this was one of my first limitations with MS.  I was too weak to hang onto a galloping horse.

There are places that offer handicap horseback riding but I somehow lost the desire to ride horses.

Our abilities to do what we did when we were younger does seem to change?  We have to make adjustments....

Damaged but Not Broken

Tree damaged by a bulldozer, 8 years ago
Spring growth
This tree has full healthy growth even though it has been damaged.  I took these photos as I was observing the new growth.

Many have said, "Cut that tree down", since they almost backed into it with their car....  I say "the tree has not moved, yall are the ones moving".

An analogy with people can be made here about damage?  I will let yall think about that....

ps. I want to thank the ones who left nice comments with Becky's post about me as a  "Portrait of a Hero".

Hubs is an Employee

Hubs has finished the probational period at his job.  He is now considered an employee of a good company with benefits.  Yay!

After 8 months of unemployment we had many things working out for the good.

One nice benefit is that we qualified for the "Make Your Home Affordable" program for our house.

We learned that we can live without many things  we had thought were necessities.

I feel for those still looking for work.  I have a new compassion for them.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.....

This song has helped me through tough times since 1983.  The words come back to my mind when I  face them.

Carry A Big Stick

I found this funny when I saw horse dog coming toward the house.  He must have felt like he needed protection!

Just a smile today!

Making Milkshakes with a Walker

I am sharing the way I make milkshakes daily since I walk with my walker now.   It is tough to carry things with a walker but we try to find a way.    I walk back to get my chair so I can sit while I drink it.  I do not want to spill liquid.
Whey Protein, chocolate ice cream, and milk is all of the ingredients it takes to make this shake, yums.   I know others want my favorite recipe so I am offering mine.  ~grins~
Voila!  It is ready to drink!  My family cannot believe that I drink this much, Ok I have a drinking problem :)   Just sharing my life is all....

My Tangled Wheelchair

This is a story of an ordinary trip outside to take a photo with a small snarl.

Since I am independent I did not think about Hubs being at work.  I had a  horse dog who wanted to go outside with me, of course.

Horse dog starts to run and goes around and around my chair with his dog run.  He has done this before but he did not get as wrapped in my chair however he was hyper today.

I think ok, I will put the camera down before I fall out of my chair, since I was trapped by a dog run wire.

I move the chair back and forth and it will not come free.  Now I will try letting my horse dog lose and he gallops off to the woods.

I go back and forth while pulling on the wire....oh no, the wire was wrapping under my fenders more.

If I call our neighbor over here to free me, what an interruption for them, I was thinking.

I  keep pulling on the rope and I have been trying to see how it was wrapped as I go back and forth.

Suddenly it came lose and I was Free!  I yell for horse dog so we can go inside and he gallops home quickly.

We do get tangled up sometimes in life....Just keep trying to become Free of those tangles!

Always Overcoming Fear

This little June bug is a frightening sight to some people, umm my sister.

I think this little beetle is harmless.   It was funny when we were kids as I showed her how nice the June bug was.

We all have fears to overcome and a few take a lifetime to conquer such as spiders, public speaking, etc.

Many are serious fears and frightening to face when they arrive.  Just keep on trying to overcome them and find peace.

Thankful for a Clear Mammogram

It is a joy to have 10 years of clear Mammograms since the doctors were sure that I had cancer.

I have shared this story before but I am reflecting thankfulness for clear mammograms since the year 2000.

When the Specialist was 90% sure that I had cancer,   I then said to hubs, I guess I have a 10% chance to believe with.   I knew it was a small chance.

We know many who have had much belief and prayer but they deal with cancer anyway.....We cannot understand.

After the 5cm lumpectomy the Specialist has not seen me since the year 2000!

When we get tired of bad things happening, try to look for the good stuff!

My Lonely Crane

I call this crane lonely since it is always by itself, when it visits us.  Many cranes mate for life but not all, per the net.

This crane may want to be alone but it reminds me of the subject of loneliness.   I appreciate the fact that I can get out of the house, if I want to....

When busy with jobs and kids, we wish for peace and quiet.   I remember those days of being too busy and I did survive enjoy them.

Thankfully we have many communications that previous generations did not have.  My Grandmother waited on letters.

I can talk to or email my kids that are busy with their careers.  Oh yeah, when hubs listens as I chatter away.

I recommend when lonely reach out to others or enjoy your peace and quiet!
