It could be worse....

When you complain about your job and work conditions.
It could be worse.

This is the Lunch room, when my Dad worked.  The Copper Mines were 3000 ft under the surface.

They had several lunch rooms, in the mines.  Kinda fancy for that far down in the ground.

It could be worse, in most cases, of life.

What a cool picture. You are so right, no matter what your circumstances are at the moment it could always be worse.

That is a wonderful picture, and you're so right! It's a good reminder that when you think things are really bad for you, if you look around a little you'll see how much worse it could be and hopefully your problems will shrink in comparison.

What a dirty and dangerous job he had! My hubby's job isn't dangerous, but it's dirty. He comes home just black.

I guess we have a lot to be thankful for, with this poor economy right now...

That is a neat picture. B&W pictures say it all. I have always had a respect for the miner. Blessings to you Kim.

That is so very true! I've been a little stressed about my job and made a list of all the things that were good about (along with having a job right now) and it helped a lot.
I bet this great picture just boosted many of us in the work force. Great picture too! I hadn't even thought about there being lunchrooms underground. Very interesting... thanks for sharing, Kim!
Hugs,
Coreen

Kim -

I've had my fair share of hard work, getting down and dirty. But I believe the copper mining work is beyond anything that I've had to endure. My hat goes off to those folks, and to your Dad.

It's always a good reminder to look at your circumstances and realize it could be worse, especially in this economy.

Thanks for this great post!

Oh nice photo. Never knew they had a special room for lunch in the mines. I love looking at old photos and find out what each one was taken from , where etc.

Wonderful memory you have of your Dad at work. They looked comfortable eating lunch in their underground lunch room.

I teach, and in Illinois--the second most financially wrecked state after CA--things are bad. Teachers are getting let go. So whenever I feel like complaining, like now with only a few days of summer break left, I realize how blessed I am to have a job and I shut up.
