Finding Sam....

His large family had been searching for him, many times in Atlanta.  They were so happy to find Sam after years of searching.

He was driving a truck and became ill.  Since he did not know how to get home he became homeless.

When we were going to feed, minister, clothe the homeless in Atlanta we met Sam.

After time we became acquainted with Sam.  We realized he was a sincere hard worker.

Our Pastor began to trust him (cautiously).  They had him live on their farm in a camper (with caution).  He attended Church with them and worked with our Pastor Carson.

We learned more about his family as time went by.   I googled and found his sister.  He was happy to call her.

They arranged to come after him after so many years of searching.  He lives back home with his family for years now.   He still calls our pastor.

I was reminded of Sam, when we went by a homeless guy.  I think it is so sad, when some are just challenged.

Being homeless is indeed a very sad thing. If you are homeless in Malaysia at least we do not have 4 seasons, they could still survive. I can't imagine those homeless in European countries, when it snows, must be freezing out there. I heard many homeless would not be able to survive the cold whether. So sad when I heard of it from the news every now and then. Wish you have a great week ahead. Stay happy and healthy.

Blessings Kim...this stirs my heart and also breaks my heart to PRAY!
But praying is not enough without the ACTs of JESUS. We must get off our knees and move to the streets and invite them to come in... We gotta be Jesus to a hurting, lost and dying world, to the many suffering, to the many in need...we cry JESUS!!!
Thanks for allowing God to speak through you heart, Kim... bless you!

Homelessness is very heart breaking...especially in a land of so called plenty...and as you wrote...many are just challenged....

Sam's story is such a fortunate one. Many homeless aren't so lucky to find home again.

May all the Sams in the world find hope and healing through Jesus.

Sadly, many, many families these days are ending up homeless. No job, no mortgage payment, no home. People that never thought it could happen to them. And it does. Families. I join you in prayer for the homeless families. Working poor, or people who are poor because companies left US soil for cheap labor elsewhere. Families ending up homeless due to life's hard blows.

Kim, first I must I love the title of your blog. No matter what position we find ourselves, things could be worse. Praying that the many other Sams will be restored. Have a blessed weekend.

Such an inspiring post! If only more people would take an interest in the homeless and do something instead of just talking about it. Someone has to care and someone must stand up for them. They are not all there by choice ... many are mentally ill who have lost all contact with their families. Bless you for caring. Bless the pastor for the faith in Sam and I am SO thankful he is back with his family. I hope your story of Sam will encourage others to take a more active role.

Homelessness is so sad, and we usually never know what the background of that person is. Thank you for sharing this story. May we always look for opportunities to help those in need however we can.
