Facing Irma In Our Woods

I was apprehensive about the storm since we have a lot of trees really close to our house.  Hubs has a job of  maintaining them....

I have chosen to live in the beauty of the trees even though we have occasional storms.

We were fine!  We had 6 inches of rain along with the tropical storm winds.  None of the trees fell and we never lost electricity thankfully!

I pray for all the ones who were devastated with these hurricanes.  We did dodge a bullet here...

I am so glad to hear you are alright!! We have cut down two huge old trees here, they were so frightening in storms. I hated to do it, though!! So now I feed the birds because of my guilt.

We dodged the bullet here too. Feel so bad for so many.

Glad to hear you've had no damage done by 'Irma'. Perhaps you should consider cutting trees, to avoid any possible damage in the future. It seems the natural disasters have become a routine, and people should take measures to protect themselves.

Glad to hear you are ok.
We have trees close by too. Yes, they are a risk, but one I am happy to take.
After fires devastated our area some years back a lot of people cut down trees as a fire risk. They are, but they also provide shelter - for humans and for birds and animals.

So glad you did not suffer any damage. There is enough around from Irma that its good to know someone did not have any! Glad you guys are safe. My aunt in Georgia was without electric for two days from what they got from Irma. Here in TN we got rain and a bit a wind. Kim, yes I had surgery in Feb. I am down 64 lbs but to jump start it and give the liver more recovery time I will get back into eating correctly again.

Trees provide so much beauty and peace and shade and wildlife...so many benefits. But they do pose a danger in some circumstances. I'm glad you came through these storms with no real or lasting trouble. Now you can enjoy those trees until the next time. :)
