He describes the Helicopter Repel Wall (5 stories high?), when he had a fear of heights. "I am on the edge of this tower with the harness I made, not knowing if it actually works?"
"I'm literally hanging off this ledge, step off the ledge backwards to a small bar. Lean back parallel to the ground, Kick off really hard so you don't hit your face on the helicopter bar. I went all the way down the rope, I did it."
I know he is safe, during training. My son reminds us, we can accomplish tasks which seem impossible.
I am so proud of him, and our Marines!

Oh wow Kim! What a way to conquer a fear. Good for him!
That takes skill and a lot of courage!! Job well done! And I know you are proud, and rightly so. wb

What an awesome accomplishment!! I wish I could overcome my fear of heights like that! At my age I'm sure I'd have a heartattack! LOL
So happy that he is safe and that you 'both' seem to be doing well!! It must be hard... my first husband was/is a Marine & we are still very good friends (long story)! He is actually retired now, but I was the one waiting at home for him way back when he was in Marine bootcamp. I even found all those letters this past weekend.
The Marines take very good care of their own & Us all! :-) So proud with you, Kim!!!
HUG,

OMG! I would have been peeing my pants all the way down. And then throwing up when I landed.
Good for him!!

How proud you must be, and what a feeling of worth and accomplishment and mastery over fear this is giving him!
I'm a military mom, too, for 15+ years now. I know your pride in your Marine!! I am so thankful for each of our military men and women past and present who sacrifice so much! God bless your Marine!
I am usually scared of heights. That description made me breathe hard to take the cold, chilly air in. I want to salute in all my sincerity to this guy!
Well done, Jacob!
