The Perfect Storm

I have had some medication reactions, for six months. That is tough to deal with.  They have been changing me,  I cannot go into detail. Be leary of medications and their side effects.  It could have been worse,  if not for the unchanging guiding hand.

I feel this is one of those hard times, that many are going through now.  I was trying to understand what was going on, when I remembered the side effects.  I told doc and he changed them immediately and I could tell the difference.  I am thankful for meds, just be careful.

It has been a roller coaster of a ride, of life.  Of course, not everything is the meds, there were other factors.  I can see what a trial this has been.  All I can say, is what a perfect storm, set up for me.  It is not over, but has calmed!

Thanks to some sweet friends on the net, I received this from Herrad at Access denied-Living with MS.

When Policeman stops you....

When the law stops you, it is not always bad.  We were pulled over, what did we do?

The Policeman walked up to the window, he was following when a napkin flew out the window.  He had to stop us, since it was litering. He needed to teach our five year old, not to liter.  Dad made him go pick up the napkin off the side of the road.  They talked to our son very nicely, and gave him a magnet, to remember to not to liter.  Our son still has this memory.

This is one of the good life lessons of teaching a child good principles when young.  We did our best, then it is up to the individual to become honest adults.  They should know right from wrong.  Make the right choice!

Monday Memories 1975

A well traveled road with gorgeous scenry.  This is the only road between Copperhill and Cleveland TN.   I took this photo out of the car window, with a small camera.  Added some color but could not do it justice.  It now has whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River.

I made this drive every week for three years when I first moved away from home, to work.

When you travel down a familiar road, notice the beauty!  Look at the rocks in the river, they are hidden when the water is flowing beautifully.  Large boulders that could injure tremendously, lurk in the water.
Enjoy the ride during your journey, be careful to watch for unseen dangers.

What Size ?

Look what happens when you give in a little, before you know it,  he takes over your life.  Be careful what you let in.

I am not a animal person, up close and personal.   After trying to give the dog a good home and getting attached a bit more.   He believe he is a small lap dog.   See how different we can see ourselves.   He believes he is a small dog,  scared of little dogs and hides under the table.

I see this as a spiritual lesson for humans.   We may see ourselves as small, but I believe with the Lords help.   The enemy sees how big we really are, spiritually!

A Horse Moved In?

When a dog moves in, big enough, I call him a horse.  He is a Mastiff dog and was homeless.  He had been living outside, cold rain, when he had been in a home, previously.  After he had lived in many, not so good places, he won me over.  The last thing I need is a dog to take care of, but he is so well trained and behaves well.

I see this as a lesson on traveling some bad roads of life.  He was used to living a good life, then went through some rough times.  He kept moving until he found a nice, warm, large home.  When it looks bad, keep holding on until your situation does get better, even if it looks hopeless now.

Monday Memories 1981

Forgetting your youngest sister, at Church, is a memory!  We had hurriedly left Church, did not notice the youngest was not with us.  We get home, a guy from Church, calls to say, did y'all forget something?  Oh
No, we forgot the youngest, fortunately it was a small town and she was safe.  We hurried back to get her and all was fine.

We still laugh about this 30 years later, but Mom did not think it was as funny as the sisters did.  Of course, Mom felt bad, but she had five girls to look after.  This is a time, that stuff could always have been worse!
You can look back and see where it could have been worse, also....

Comforting Reminder

I was reminded of the words of Zephaniah 3:17 by another blogger, Confessions of a Snowflake, I wanted to share these comforting scriptures, as life is tough, challenging, boring, whatever for you:

"The LORD your God is with you,

he is mighty to save.

He will take great delight in you,

he will quiet you with his love,

he will rejoice over you with singing."

Nature Teaching Us....

Geese having fun in the frozen lake.  This is nature showing us to keep on living a good life, with challenges.  I know they may not feel the cold, but they are with their family. They are playing during, what we would call,  bad circumstances of life.

This is a testimony of recieving more than you dreamed of.  I could not imagine a view like this.  I have had a few obstacles but... When there is challenges, hope and look around for the better stuff.

Stuck in a Ditch (Rut) Again

Adventures of driving on ice.  We thought it was clear enough to get out and go to Church,  however, this is what happens when your almost home.  We could not get in our driveway without going for a spin!  Thankfully, it was not bad, cousin pulled us out without any damage.   I look as this as one of my memories, and laughed about our easy drive home.  I was stuck in a rut again and this time had a camera!

When the situation looks bad, it may be deceiving.  Keep on trying to make it home, with adventures and obstacles along the way.  It is worth the effort!

Fighting MS-Multiple Sclerosis

I want to thank my friend at Access denied-Living with MS, for passing me this symbol.  I need to remind all that read, to keep fighting MS.  I believe there will be a cure soon. As this disease is disruptive to our normal life and many hardships, it causes.  I am doing ok?  As it will be devastating to many, it is always different for everyone.  Let us keep up the battle to defeat this Multiple Sclerosis!

Snowy Day!

Snow is beautiful, when you rarely have it.  We got the chance to have a snow day.  I know that some, have snow all winter do not love it. We that rarely see it, love the white snow covered land.

It is a beautiful part of nature, as the seasons change again!
Take notice of the beauty of the different seasons of life.  The saying, if you do not like it now, just wait and it will change again.  Spring will be here very soon!

Changes Can Be Made

This is the what pollution can do to the land.  The picture is from 1939, from what I was told.  The industry of copper mining, stripped all the beautiful vegetation from the area.

I am sharing these photos, as a picture of change. It does take time with hard work, to see improvement.  You can change your situation into something beautiful.

The area is now a beautiful tourism area, Copperhill, TN and McCaysville GA.

A Fresh Start

Where I grew up, and looking back, as the new year starts.   The first day of a new year, seems to be a
good time to reflect on the past.  I  do not mean to dwell on the past, but look how far you have come, on this journey of life.

I grew up in Copperhill, TN, with an industry of copper mining.  That has all changed to a tourist type area now.  I will keep posting pictures to reflect the evolution of a small town. It will show how things can change.

I started blogging one year ago, not a writer, but a friend described this way,  "a friendly, welcoming style,  that comes naturally".  I think that is a good description of Me, so I guess that is it.   I did not intend on finding, such a wonderful world of bloggers and reader's.  It was a surprise for me.  I need all the tips, on blogging that anyone, would like to share.  I suppose I will stay on this road, in life, for now!

I always try to end a thought by asking, what do you think your road looks like, on this journey?  Life!
