It's good to get out and be helpful. Once I retire from driving school bus,I think I would like to help in the church if they had something for me to do.
I too volunteer - with a telephone crisis line and providing peer support for others with the dread disease. And, like you, it helps me more than I help others. I have been volunteering for fifteen years now and it is a HUGE and valuable part of my life.
Hi Kim! I truely believe in volunteering. I'm too busy right now but when I retire and have the time to share that is what I want to do! One of our writers from our writers group has found some interesting ways to volunteer. There are so many different ways to get out there and help others! Great post!

Volunteering is a great way to get out of the house, and be in contact with people. I volunteer at at my FIL's retirement residence.
I love to volunteer for certain things.... sometimes I get into more than what I bargained for.

Volunteering is definitely rewarding! Feels nice to forget about yourself and help a cause you feel strongly about. Even CrankyPants enjoy it :)
Making ourselves available to others has a way of refreshing us.
