My Guilty Horse Dog....

I discovered this mess in my house one morning!

Who would roll shred paper on the inside of my house?

It appears the evidence led me to this guilty looking horse dog?

Is he cowering in shame?

or is he going back to sleep?

Honoring our Fallen Hero Scott Harper

Hubs took this pic of son and I waiting for the procession

We went to the procession of our fallen hero Scott Harper.  He was being escorted  home a final time.....we wanted to honor his sacrifice...He was killed in Afghanistan at the age of 21.

A silence began....then tears....

the Mom of Marine Harper went by in the limo behind the hearse.....she reached up and touched the window as she was looking at my son in his uniform.

Maybe she touched the window as an act of appreciation for my son standing there saluting his fallen Marine.....

We were so touched by her thoughtful action during her pain.  

Since my son is a 21 year old Marine, this affected me greatly.

Moths are Beautiful too

Psalm 139:14  for I am Fearfully and Wonderfully made, marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Beautifully and wonderfully made came to my mind when I saw this moth on my door last year.

I am re-using an old photo but I still have the excuse of being busy with my son.....kinda.

Try to Notice the beauty around you....through the good and bad times.

My Family Welcomed Son Home

I continue sharing a few of our events while my son has been home.....

We had a lunch for my family (20 people) to come over to welcome him.

As you can see we get out the finery of paper plates for our family!

This is one of my favorite things to do....socialize with them.

Do try to Enjoy your family when you can.

My Marine Son Visits Me!

My son is marching home this week for a visit....

before he is sent to a far, far, far away country California.

I am thankful that he is staying in the USA til ???

He has graduated training for what I describe as an

"airplane mechanic".   

but it is a little more technical than that.

I am a Proud Mom again!

Since I will be spending time with him, maybe, hopefully.

I will blog whenever....

My Elderly Dog and My Jealous Dog

This is Oscar....she has a boy name because....my son was so young and wanted a boy dog so we implied that she was a boy....therefore he named her Oscar.

She has lived outdoors for 15 years.  

I have not always been fond of this dog but I have changed since she has mellowed and become so frail.

The best way to get our jealous dog Donny to wake up is....

 to holler for Oscar!  

I am not turning my blog into an animal blog....they are just a big part of my life nowadays.

Roses Alive in October

I proclaimed this rose bush dead when I posted photos earlier this year on Spring Cycle of Roses.

The black basil in front of the roses is not black lately since it is reseeding.....I guess

It is October and I am still enjoying roses as I am freezing....I do not get out from under my blanket nowadays til it is 80 in the afternoon!

 I used to complain about the heat since it made me so weak.   MS does not like heat.

It is weird how I have changed as the years go by....my roses did not bloom past Spring either??

Is my Dog Trusting or Stubborn?

Donny would not move.....
even with a wheelchair pointed to his throat!

I  tried to push him with my foot...

He finally moved away when I kept nudging him!
(maybe it was from the glare of my pale leg?)

However, I think he is Stubborn!

is what I said as I looked up and saw that.....

I was inches from hitting the car in front of me.

I believe the reason I looked up at the right time was that small still voice thought from God.

I almost had a near fender bender because:

I was distracted by that bag of food in the picture

I was tired

I am not used to these new hand controls

I will stick by my excuses, however,

 Distracted Driving is Dangerous!
