Wheelchair Ice Skating

I had no intention of ice skating.  We were leaving our family Christmas at Oma's house, it was snowing for a while.

My daughter was walking in front of me, when hubs said "you better move, she will knock you down".  She did move fortunately.

I started down small incline slowly, carefully.  Soon I was gliding on ice,  into a parked Mustang (no damage).  It startled us all,  I eased my way to the van, just fine.

We drove home slowly, with no ice on the road.  We had a rare "White Christmas" for Atlanta.

We can all drift, unintentionally, with our lives.  Be careful!

Oh My Kim.... Glad you are okay... That could have been scary... Yipes!!!!

YES---we here in the south did have a White Christmas. We had so much snow that my sons and families could not get here... Sigh!!!!! But --having a White Christmas was nice considering the fact that we seldom ever get snow on Christmas.

Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Betsy

'I had no intention of ice skating" .Well, may be you should have such an intention. People on wheelchairs practice all kinds of sports and they get serious achievements too.

Glad you've reached home safely, enjoying the rare White Christmas of Atlanta.

Yes! If we are not diligent about seeking God, we will drift and let the world dictate our legacy!

I'm glad you weren't hurt during your "drift." I love how God reminds us spiritual things through our daily lives!

Your story reminded me of a time my daughter, husband and I were walking home from the neighbors. It was solid ice and on an slope. Suddenly one of us started slipping and before we could say icey we were all down in a heap. It took quite a while before our brusing colors died down. I guess we need these times to keep us laughing--and remind us to be carefull not to drift!

We can drift, I know! And a big scared heart and a jumpy "ouch!" to that. :( So glad you're safe, good and humorous about the adventure. :)

Yikes! I am glad you are OK. This weather over the past week has been wild. We've had record snowfall in Dec and now it's warming up to nearly 60 tomorrow. Hopefully no flooding!
