Going Overboard!

Literally, I wanted to go on the lake, with hubby in our new canoe.  I say, I do not want to get wet!  He promises, he would never let anything happen to me.  I am finally in the canoe, holding on for dear life.  He starts pushing it off shore.  I said this is scary,  just getting the boat into the water.

Suddenly the canoe tips sideways, and I am setting in inches of water.  I am cold, even though I was dressed warmly, wet now.  I was waist deep in cold, muddy water.  He calls our son and gets help soon.

We finally get back to the house, after two trucks get stuck, they wenched them out.  Finally this beautiful day ends with me taking a hot shower to warm up.  After walking on frozen water last week, I fell in the water, this week.  Biblical lesson, should not have looked down, into the water. Grrr!

When you feel thrown overboard and you are cold and wet. in life.  Be thankful you have help to get you back to stability, and a warm place to go to.

I like your post. It reminded me of my canoeing debacle. I also ended up in the water!

Why is it that when you fear something it truly happens. Keep Strong Gal

Oh no! Glad to know you weren't hurt. I don't like being cold or wet. So I'm always thankful for a warm place to go!

This reminds me of why I don't get into small boats. I hope you don't get sick from being in that cold water like that.
I guess that experience gave new meaning to 'walking on water', huh? It's been nicer weather but I don't think it's nice enough for boating. You be careful.

Reminds me of when I was young, we'd go canoeing while ice was still in the middle of the lake each spring. Takes me back....

Sending warm thoughts ;D

Ooh, that takes me back to when I went out with a boyfriend as a teenager on his sailboat. We were in an estuary, I fell in and was nearly taken out to sea! Not been keen on boating since although I do steel myself to go out on our lagoon with my husband sometimes - at least his boat has a motor!!

Sorry you fell in! Nothing worse than being cold & wet!

I get weak in the knees these days even thinking about getting into a canoe.

So sorry to hear that you fell out, and had to sit in muddy water,
BUT, the way you look at it at the end of the post is nothing less than inspiring, as always.

((hugs)) to you ;)
