My Scooter Wreck

my aunt Sue's cherry tree

I have been feeling good and venturing out more on these beautiful spring days....

However I was driving my scooter a little too carelessly....

around my car fast when the scooter tipped over....klaplump....it fell over on its side making me

...hit my concrete driveway suddenly....

I was fine but I could not get up.... Since the phone was inside the car and I was laying several feet from the car.....

I felt trapped in my own driveway.....but thankfully hubs was in the house.

uh oh....hubs cannot hear good!

I laid on the concrete in the sun....hollering and feeling like I was in a survivor story for 5 minutes.

....help....hubs....hubs....help....

thankfully the neighbor through the woods heard me and called the phone in the house....then hubs realized I never came in the house so he finally found me....and helped me to get up.

Thankfully my survivor story was only 5 minutes...but I will be more careful to keep my phone with me....and stop driving my scooter recklessly.

i am so glad it was only five minutes, that is truly scary. and glad you were not injured. lucky the neighbor could hear. my hubby would never hear me, i was in bed sick and calling for him and he was watching TV, he has it so loud he could not hear me. someone said, i hope youdon't get in your pool unless your husband is out there with you, i said he can't hear me if he is. i am on my own.
one of the bloggers told me she went to the store and got down to get something from bottom shelf and could not get back up, she had to wait there until her hubby came to find her.

I am happy it is not really cold out. You could have been really cold waiting for someone to come get you. I guess we never think about things like that until we have to.

I am glad you are ok! We don't think about these things do we? Now I am thinking about my situation. A good lesson for all of us!

Well, I'm a horrible blogger friend because as scary as it was it is still funny that we adults can get ourselves in these situations.

I giggled thinking, "Oh, I've gotten myself in some predicaments..." giggling in support of you but making the moment a memory.

Glad you are okay. And, THE PHONE WAS IN THE CAR. Isn't that how it happens. We always have it with us until...

Happy Thursday!

I'm so glad you're okay and it was a brief, though I bet it felt like it was longer at the time, survival story!

I'm hopefully soon getting a power chair and I'll learn from your story too! I'm pretty good about keeping my phone clipped to my shirt or coat, but I'm hone alone during the day. At least at first, I'm sure the chair will scare me too much to go too fast. :)

Oh my gosh!!! I am so glad there was a neighbor nearby and also your husband was home. Even five minutes is a scary thing. A few years ago, I had the same thing happen to me. I was in the front yard and slipped in the snow and fell. I could not get up on my knees because I need knee transplants, and I could not pull or push myself up because the rotator cuffs in my shoulder are torn. So if I ever go down, I am really down! Anyway, my husband was not home, and all the neighbors were at work!! Finally a delivery man stopped at a house across the street and I yelled at him! He came running over and picked me up and put me back on my feet. Your moral is to be more careful on your scooter. Mine is to never go out in the snow unless someone is with me. We were both really blessed!

Ouch. Are you ok? Just dented pride I hope. I am so glad that you were rescued quickly - but am sure that it felt a very loooong five minutes.

Oh Kim, I'm so glad you weren't hurt. Turns can be scary on a scooter. Glad Hubs heard the phone even if he didn't hear you! lol

Nothing is more frustrating or scary than becoming helpless! It sucks and I am so glad it only lasted 5 minutes!

Isn't it funny (well, not really, but you know what I mean) how these incidents make you wish you had a do-over to, say, grab the phone? I am really happy to hear you're okay!!

Oh, dear, that was terrible for you, Kim! It's a good lesson to always have your phone with you when you are out. Thanks for sharing the beautiful cherry tree. Happy Sunday and happy Spring!

Sometimes a fall like that can not have such a happy ending, as my mother-in-law (and the cast she had for awhile) can fully attest.

I'm glad to hear you're alright. Thank goodness too that the neighbor heard you and hubby came looking very quickly.

For what it is worse, twice in the fading days of Patti's scooter use she was brought home by tow truck.
