Sauerkraut of Dad's

Sauerkraut is the correct word for this kraut, my Dad canned.

It was so beautiful and delicious looking, I just had to make a picture of it.

He and Mom would chop the cabbage and pack it in the jars.  After waiting awhile, it would be a great additive to beans, etc.

This is a strange thing to post about, but an important tradition of our family.  We are losing this tradition with the younger ones.   We buy it now.

Remember your family traditions and what made you, the person you are!

Oh, thanks for sharing. I have not heard of it before.

I know what you mean about certain family traditions being lost with the upcoming generation...but new traditions are being started, so that part is fun!

To be honest, I can't think of any family traditions that have stood the test time. But, like Karen says, new ones get started :)

Traditions are so important to keep. They help to make great memories to pass on to the next generation.
