My Son A Marine!

My Son joined the Marines, I am so proud of him, but so sad as a Mom.  I love the Military, but not my son, given to the Military!   When he told me about the arrangements, if he were to be killed, I had some tears.   He does not leave for a long time, many things could change.  This is what he wants to do.  I will support him, quit trying to talk him out of it.  It is his life, I have to let him make his own decisions but as a Mom, it is painful.

Since I have complained, want to be selfish, unwilling to sacrifice my son.  We do need to think of what a sacrifice, our Heavenly Father made, with his Son!

I do want to thank my fellow blogger at Krazy Monkey Tale for this lovely award.  I will pass it on to Beautiful Mess, for becoming my 200th follower.  I want to thank any who read this, I pass this award to all who reads this.

Wow!! Tell him congrats it is such a huge step. My brother is finishing up his last active year of a 4 year contract in the Marines. It is hard, its so hard but the overwhelming pride is worth it! Be strong and keep us updated. Does he know where he will do bootcamp at yet?

Yes his bootcamp would be South Carolina, Paris Island? Thanks and after working out with them for a couple of hours, he was feeling much more pride, in himself.

Thank you for the "Beautiful Award".

Thank you for being the kind of mom that raises a son that is willing to make a sacrifice for our country and my freedom.

To God be the glory in his life FOREVER!

Be strengthened and encouraged momma!

Kim, as a mother I have no idea what you must be feeling but over it all, I'm sure there is unmeasurable pride that you have raised a son that is willing to sacrifice everything to protect the country, family, and friends that I'm sure he loves and respects. I'm from a military family (even worked for the government myself for a number of years) and have a profound admiration for those who serve.

Wow, this would be one of those things for me too as to have mixed feelings, but I thank you for your sacrifice and your son for his commitment to keep us save and free. Bless you both!

My father retired military so I have a special love for the Armed Services but I would feel the same way if MY son joined. I can imagine you are feeling a lot of pride and fear! I'll be keeping him in my prayers.

BTW, that is one of the prettiest blog awards I have seen! Congratulations!!!

I am SO THRILLED and yet totally FEARFUL... We have a dear Friend who is a high ranking officer in the military and two tours in Iraq. A teenage daughter and two new babies; toddler and one right behind.

Before all this war not so few years ago the military was the best place to be for determined people, for an education, and for honor.

It totally still is an AWESOMELY wonderful, and self-sacrificing decision. But, now having children of my own I see the risk factor with where our world is today.

I am honored that your son is joining the militia. And, the MARINES! To boot! The Marines and Navy Seals have always had an extra special place in my heart (maybe the overly additional endurance training?) But, I love and am so proud of and supportive of any American who signs up, knowing what all this world has to offer...and....take away.

My children live a perfect life, I live a perfect life, all because of the Grace of God and wonderful human beings - people- people's children - who join to support our life, our country and our well being.

Wear that pride, Mama. Wear it well. And, post many pictures and keep us updated. And, be sure to tell that special child of yours, I said a personal, "Thank You."

Paris Island is beautiful! That is where my brother graduated boot camp from. Tell him to watch out for the sand crabs...I hear they are 'killer'.
