You have Severe Arthritis

My left shoulder hurt with sharp pains so the Doctor had me get xrays.

The Results were "you have severe arthritis in the neck".  I asked...Why would they say Severe???

The nurse said, "it is not a mild or moderate amount of arthritis.  You have a lot of arthritis which is labeled as severe".

Now I need to start Physical Therapy whenever.  This is not a good time,  I am busy since my son is becoming a Marine.

Ok, I have a real pain in the neck.  I now have a name for my aches besides MS.

I get tired of being the drama queen for a Medical Drama.

Life is full of pain.  I guess we have no choice but to deal with it.

  1. Oh I am sorry to hear that you have arthritis Kim. Often times we blame the MS for all else that ails us. It's at least good to know that you can get some treatment for the arthritis, and hopefully some pain relief. Take some time for yourself and get that physical therapy.

  4. Kim,
UGH!!!! While I don't have MS, I do have Moderate Arthritis as well as degenerative disks in my back and there is no cartilage between my knees to cushion them...so I have pain all the time and I say the same thing; I don't have time to have pain...so I pop Aleve and go forth with life.
It's all I can do...hang in there my friend and deep breaths...

  5. I'm so sorry, Kim, that you are having some Arthritis... My good friend has had alot of trouble with Arthritis all of her adult life. She has 2 new knees and one new hip... She keeps on keeping on though --but it's not easy....

I hate it that you have that to deal with --in addition to your MS.... May God be with you...

    Hugs and Prayers,
    Betsy

  7. I'm SO sorry to hear about this!! I have severe arthritis and am in pain a lot, they just gave me narcotics for it. So I can imagine how it feels. Maybe the therapy will help? Maybe after the first few visits, you can do it at home. I hope you have a good P.T. facility nearby.

  8. Kim, I'm sorry that you have more pain, and I hope therapy can help. Many times it does help, but I do know how hard it is to fit one more thing into your day.

  15. Oh..I can relate to your pain.My mother in law has the same problem.
    Please take care of yourself.

I have seen her taking hot water bag and placing it at the area of pain, that gives some relief.

There are simple exercises that help in long run.You may want to google the same.

I can only pray for you,but you will have to fight it and be positive.

    God bless you my friend.
