San Diego's Accessible Beach

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that San Diego had these chairs free of charge to make their beach accessible.

My mother in law and I raced around like kids on the beach with our family!  It was one of the highlights of our trip out west!

  1. I've heard that some of our NJ beaches have those balloon tire chairs, but I've never tried them. Looks as if you had a great time!!

  3. Oh how wonderful.... I can only imagine how much you two enjoyed that... I had NEVER seen a wheelchair like that before---so that you could get around in sand... LOVE it....

  4. How cool! Now EVERYONE can enjoy the beach! That's something that I think most people don't really think about very much - all of the places you can't go or that are difficult to go because of your wheelchair.

  12. That is absolutely wonderful!! I well remember the days of limited vacation access because my dad was wheelchair bound. It's the reason that he didn't get to enjoy Plymouth Plantation. I love that they do that, and I wish Plymouth would get at list one for folks to be able to navigate the sandy paths there.
