Spiders and Spring

I don't remember ever enjoying the beauty of Spring as much as I have this year!

Maybe it is because I am aging?.....
or maybe it is because the Winter was so long?

or maybe it is simply because I stepped on a spider last year for the first time in 40 years!
(It may sound crazy but somehow I think it helped free me of my fear of spiders)
last years spider inside flower

This year I am noticing more of the beauty around me
since I am not constantly obsessing over spiders!

I encourage others to try stepping on the 'spiders' in your life!

  1. Spiders are good. They help keep us free of other harmful insects. I can't kill them -- I just scoot them somewhere else. Glad you're enjoying the spring. I am, too!

  3. We don't have many signs of spring yet. I'm not a spider fan, they creep me out!

  4. Kim, My name is Mitch Thurmer and I have had MS for 24 years, Long story short, Tara Greer and I have been online friends, fellow MS'ers for a long time. She has vanished. You are listed on her blog, have you got any idea what has happened to her. I went as far as calling the MS Soc in that area and the "law" prevents them from telling me anything, my email is mthurmer271@comcast.net. Her blog is Living Day to day with Multiple Sclerosis. Thanks, I am afraid something bad has happened.Thhanks, Mitch

  5. We are a pair. I am enjoying so much everything about spring, I want to just inhale it all!! I think it is because I am getting so much older...the older I get, the more and more i appreciate things. I have a terrible fear of spiders, and it is certainly not getting any better. I CAN step on one if it is small enough.

  7. Spiders are fine. I have spider shooing duties in this house.
My metaphorical spiders need a bit more (a lot more) work.
I am glad that Spring has finally reached you.

  9. I'm not much of a 'spider' person --and am always checking my shoes for them before I put them on!!!!!! BUT your yellow 'spiders' are gorgeous...

We did have a rough winter this year --so I think that makes spring much more special...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  12. Bam.
I needed the nudge about stepping on my spiders. Someone (Eleanor Roosevelt, maybe?) said, "Do the thing you fear, and death of fear is certain." I know that in my head, but the rest of my body won't get on board with it.

And I'm feeling the same about this spring. I think it's because it WAS such a long winter.

  16. Spiders make me shudder, I have such a silly fear of them, but I have a great spider catcher which keeps them at arms distance away while I remove them from the home.
