We were surprised
when my daughter invited Hubs and I over to her house for a meal...
since she does not cook too much.
However her Grandmother, Oma, recently taught her how to cook these two German dishes....
schnitzel (breaded meat) and spaetzle (noodles).
We enjoyed the meal very much...
it was delicious

Everyone needs to know how to make one special dish!
German food!!! When my father-in-law was alive, there was always interesting German food. He was a chef...direct from Germany! Delish!
One of my favourite dishes. My Swiss husband cooks it.
How wonderful that her grandmother taught her this, it sounds so yummy! The picture alone is making me hungry! And I bet hers was even better then this!!!
Both are delicious!
How neat!!!! I love German food... Every October we attend a festival --where they feature German foods and music... Excellent post ---and I know you are proud of your daughter and her cooking skills.
Hugs,
Betsy
Yum! Did you save me some? lol
Her signature dishes? I am so glad that she cooked for you and that you enjoyed the food and the company.
Looks yummy. Guess she is all grown up and started to like cooking. You should post the recipe too for us. happy blogging to you
Looks so delicious ! No wonder you enjoyed the meal !
i was thinking say what?? then i read the english words for it and would love both of these.
I've never tried either dish...

My mother used to make both! Great memories...
Peace,
Muff
Yay!! Now maybe you will get invited more often. LOL
Oh yes Oh yes... two of my favorites. Both of my girls did an exhange program to Germany, and we hosted their exchange partners in return. When the first one came home, this was something that she wanted us to learn how to make. (I didn't learn it. Her grandmother did. Why mess with the best? ha!)
That looks awesome... good for her!
That looks awesome! Was it as good as it looks? I have never had that dish before...
Schnitzel is a very popular dish in Israel, and very much loved by children. It usually goes with french fries and Cola beverage.
Lovely, happy and wholesome post!! :) ...
Way to go, Leah! Such a talented daughter in so many ways...
Job well done for both your daughter and her grandmother.
Maybe this the beginning a new family tradition! :) Food cooked by someone else always tastes so good!
