I am always saying:
I Forgot this
I Forgot that
We all are forgetful with age but of course I think

These videos are long but check them out if you are interested by the National MS Society
Personally I exercise my brain by taking notes and trying to make sense blogging :)
What do you do for your memory?
I do memory exercises. I work on remembering odd bits of trivia, like strings of numbers. In other words, I work actively on keeping my memory, and I think it's having a positive effect.

my best brain exercise is a daily battle with blogger/computer and the big brain teaser Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteAn over 90 year old lady with a great memory, once told me that her secret for preserving memory was solving crossword puzzles, and eating each day a cubicle of dark chocolate.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I believe that engaging in any activity that forces us to think - helps with our memory.
I think that your blog - posting - commenting - and emailing is a good way to keep the mind sharp too. I hope so anyway.
ReplyDeleteNothing yet but I need to start.
ReplyDeleteI forgot the name of my son's fourth grade teacher and he just finished fourth grade one month ago! I make lists and more lists. But then I misplace the lists!!!!UGH!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joanne
I do a lot of brain exercises, some on my DSL (BrainAge). I write a lot of stuff down as well as reminders. And I try to get adequate amounts of rest, because when I am tired, my memory is toast.
ReplyDeleteKeeping our memory and mind active is important as we age... I read alot, am constantly doing research, blogging and computer work, etc... My mother-in-law used to work those daily (in the newspaper) crossword puzzles....We just need to remember to keep learning throughout life.

I sew and play solitare, I just read an article that links drinking diet soft drinks and MS.
ReplyDeleteActually I find that blogging really is a great way to keep our minds exercised and challenged. And the added perk is that if we are blogging about stuff in our lives, we are creating a good place to keep our memories!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a really good memory. I discovered that once I started school in January of this year, that it's not nearly as good as it used to be.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go back to class, I'll be studying, studying, studying...
My memory used to be near perfect, but not anymore. The worst is that I can't remember who told me something, so don't know who to go and ask questions on the matter!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a list maker, but since MG has caused some "brain fog" my lists are a bit longer than before.
ReplyDeleteI read, do crossword puzzles and crochet to keep the brain cells going! And spend way to much time on my computer :-)
Hmmmm, since the chemo pretty much destroyed all my good brain cells....
ReplyDeleteBlogging! haha
I hopped over from FarmChick and i like what i see!!!
hope to see you on my side of the fence!

Blogging and learning Spanish
ReplyDeleteI try to keep myself learning something new or doing puzzles.
ReplyDeleteI do lots of word puzzles, read, write...and when I have to remember something in order (not numbers, I can do that) I come up with a mnemonic device of some kind...or make a personal relation to a new person I meet and their name...
