Silly Childhood Dreams

I share a story that made me smile when they told me.

My Aunt Sue and My Aunt Sue
(Moms sister Sue and Dads sister Sue
became friends when my parents married)
they were telling me one of their childhood dreams.

They said when they grew up....they were going to have an
upstairs maid and a downstairs maid
for their mansions.

As life turned out....
they were their own maids in regular houses!

Now that they are elderly older and retired they just laugh at it...
and they would not change a thing.

My silly dream was to marry a handsome man from Greece, why?
I would not change Hubs for a man from Greece!
Did you have any silly childhood plans?

Oh I love the silly childhood dreams! Mine was to live own a farm and have 2 cows, one horse, and 7 chickens. So glad that didn't come true. What I have is enough work;)

I would say childhood dreams are innocent, rather than silly.
We dream of things at an age when we know nothing about our real capabilities and about life in general.

Hello There, Since I've been away from blogging for a week, I have alot of catching up to do. We had a wonderful trip to Arkansas --but it's great to visit with my blog friends. Hope things are going well with you.

I always dreamed about being a NURSE... That is funny because I cannot stand the sight of blood or needles.. I could NEVER be a nurse... ha
Hugs,
Betsy

Things like that are fun to think about. I never had any big dreams, don't know why. My dream was to marry a man who loved me and have a child. I thought about it often, and it happened!

I wanted to be just like Darrin Stephens and design advertising. I didn't have to have a warlock for a husband, but that would have been okay too. :)

I don't think I did have any dreams. I briefly wanted to work in a bank because I liked the uniform, but other than that? None that I can recall.

Ah yes! These were my childhood dreams. I'm not making this up, either. Just felt the need to say that since some of them came true.

I wanted to get married to a Prince Charming and have daughters. I didn't have a number in mind, but I knew that I wanted at least 2. If I had sons, that was fine, but I dreamed of at least two daughters.

I wanted to live next door to my sister, and we planned to build the world's most adorable playhouse between our houses for our girls to play in. ('Cause she dreamed of having girls too.) If we had boys as well, we were going to build them a Swiss family Robinson tree house.

I dreamed of being a school teacher and then becoming a published author who had a little writing cottage behind my house for her office. (Apparently, I had a "thing" for out buildings, huh?)

Those were my dreams.

I have a Prince Charming, two daughters, and taught school.
My sister and I do not live next door to each other, but I guess we do have a playhouse of sorts between our homes for our collective group of four daughters. (It's called Grandma's house... Ahem)

So I guess I will not pout because I never became a published author. Maybe I'll build a blog cottage one day. LOL

Sorry to ramble, but that's what we dreamers do.

I remember telling my parents that I was going to live there forever so that they could always take care of me.

I'm sooooooooo glad that didn't turn out to be the case. I ended up living there for much longer than I wanted to as an adult but am much happier now that I'm out on my own.

Looks like everyone has a silly childhood dreams. When I was little I used to tell grandma that I love children so much that I would have few dozens of my own. I end up having 2 sons. Two is enough to make me go dizzy, hahahah
